Spencer Creek Solids Processing Facility

Prior to this project, wastewater sludge for the City was stored in lagoons and then applied to farm ground when weather conditions were favorable. This project allowed them to greatly reduce the sludge odors from the lagoons, and convert sludge to a cake product that was mixed with yard waste to create a Class A compost, allowing management of the organic waste stream to provide 100% beneficial reuse of the materials into sale to public and private contractors. KCI constructed a dewatering building to house two belt presses, converted two sludge holding tanks to fine bubble air diffuser systems, and installed 1,100 linear feet of gravity sewer and 2,100 linear feet of sludge force mains.
