Touhill Performing Arts Center

This center serves as both an entertainment venue and learning laboratory, with a 1,630 seat performance hall and a 200 seat multipurpose music and theater hall. The theater is acoustically correct while sitting in a St. Louis Lambert Airport flight path and alongside Metrolink light-rail tracks. The concrete framed building was built during a city-wide concrete strike, and was constructed with site constraints of Metrolink on one side, and constant vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the other sides. The majority of the space is dedicated to theater space, with areas of offices and a highly technical control and data center. Ornate details consume the interior theater, with site development of brick paver walks, street pavement details and ornate retaining walls.

“It was a good construction project. Good project team, good subcontractors, good coordination, good communication, and pride and passion for a well designed building.”
