KCI Breaks Ground on New Alluvial Water Treatment Plant

On April 9, KCI Construction proudly joined project partners, community leaders, and stakeholders to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Alluvial Water Treatment Plant—an important investment in long-term water infrastructure for the Village of Fieldon and the surrounding rural area.

Backed in part by funding from the United States Department of Agriculture, this project represents a major step forward in delivering reliable, high-quality water service to the region. The new facility is designed to enhance system capacity, improve treatment efficiency, and support future growth for the surrounding communities.

As the contractor on the project, KCI will lead construction of a complex and highly specialized water treatment facility. The scope of work includes extensive site development and installation of critical treatment components such as two pre-engineered buildings, claricones, helicarb vessels, and decelerating flow filters. Additional systems include a lime feed system, chlorine gas scrubber, carbon dioxide storage and feed system, and a full chemical feed system.

The plant will also feature high service and backwash pumps, a modern SCADA system for operational control, and an office area complete with a laboratory to support ongoing water quality monitoring.

This groundbreaking marks the beginning of a project that will have a lasting impact on the community—delivering safe, dependable water infrastructure while reinforcing KCI’s commitment to building essential systems that serve and strengthen communities.

KCI looks forward to progressing this work safely and efficiently alongside our partners and delivering a facility that will support the region for generations to come.
