KCI is constructing a new 8-million-gallon-per-day water treatment plant at Alluvial to provide expanded water treatment capacity and modern infrastructure for the community. The project includes extensive site development and construction of two pre-engineered metal buildings along with new water treatment and process systems. Major components include claricones, Helicarb vessels, decelerating flow filters, a lime feed system, chlorine gas scrubber, carbon dioxide storage and feed system, chemical feed systems, and high-service and backwash pumps. The facility also includes a comprehensive SCADA system and a dedicated office area with laboratory space to support plant operations and water quality monitoring.
The project brings together multiple construction disciplines, including site work, building construction, process equipment, mechanical systems, electrical work and controls. Once complete, the new facility will provide 8 MGD of additional water treatment capacity and modern infrastructure to support reliable water service for the community.
