KCI is performing upgrades to the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District’s Bissell Point Wastewater Treatment Plant as part of the Trickling Filter Media Phase II project. The project involves the rehabilitation of existing trickling filter tanks, each measuring approximately 134 feet in diameter and 40 feet tall. As part of the work, sections of the existing tank lids are being removed to provide access for the removal and replacement of the existing trickling filter media. The project also includes replacement of the existing tank liner and center mass, along with upgrades to the tank controls.
The improvements will extend the service life of the existing treatment infrastructure and help maintain reliable wastewater treatment operations at the Bissell Point facility. KCI’s work requires careful coordination and planning to perform extensive rehabilitation within existing operational facilities while maintaining safety, quality and project schedule.
